NEP – NFFA Europe Pilot
NFFA-Europe Pilot is a distributed research infrastructure funded by the European Union under Horizon 2020, with the aim of providing integrated, transnational access to Europe’s leading research infrastructures in nanoscience and nanotechnology. The project is coordinated by the National Research Council (CNR) and runs from March 2021 to February 2027. NFFA-Europe Pilot has developed the concept of Interoperable Distributed Research Infrastructure for Nanoscience (IDRIN), a European platform that integrates the following into a single ecosystem: nanofoundries for the synthesis and fabrication of materials; advanced characterisation laboratories; large-scale analytical infrastructures (synchrotrons, FELs and neutron sources); numerical simulation tools and high-performance computing. The aim is to enable researchers to carry out complex projects covering the entire research chain, from material design to advanced characterisation, through a single access proposal.
