RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURES
ISMN research facilities provide specialist expertise, equipment and infrastructures in processing, manufacturing and characterization of materials and devices to support its research activities. ISMN researchers and technicians use and share state-of-the-art laboratories, located at the four institute sites, for chemical preparation, processing and study of the morphological, structural, functional and physicochemical properties of nanostructured materials, thin films, biomaterials as well as for manufacturing and system integration of electronic, photonic, environmental catalysis and biological devices.
The strength of ISMN research facilities is complemented by the four laboratories for advanced characterization of materials and devices with nanometric resolution: the Scanning Probe Microscopy Laboratory (SPM: AFM, STM), the Field Emission Gun Scanning Electron Microscopy Laboratory (SEM-FEG), the High Resolution Surface Analysis Laboratory (XPS, AES, XRF, UPS) and the Time Resolved Confocal Photoluminescence Microscopy and Spectroscopy laboratory.
