“ARGINARE” IS THE WINNER OF THE START CUP UNIME COMPETITION 2018

The project ARGINARE, proposed by the team Giulia Rando (student of the Master course in Chemical Sciences, UniMe), Dr. Maria Rosaria Plutino (researcher at the Institute for the Study of Nanostructured Materials, ISMN-CNR), Dr. Simone Cappello (researcher at the Institute for Coastal Marine Environment, IAMC-CNR) and Dr. Giuseppe Sabatino UniMe (Graduate Technician at the MITF Dept., UniMe) is the winner of the Start Cup Unime Competition 2018.

The project is based on the design and development of innovative and eco-sustainable multifunctional hybrid materials, based on synthetically modified natural clays or waste materials, and on their use for environmental bioremediation and recovery of contaminated marine waters.

The StartCup 2018 competition, which took place on Thursday 13th September in the Sala dell'Accademia dei Pericolanti of the University of Messina, is an event promoted by the TTO of the University of Messina with the aim of supporting applied research and technological innovation pointed to the economic development and of spreading the business culture in the territory thus favoring the dialogue between the academic world and the productive system. The award is preliminary to the regional competition "Start Cup Sicilia 2018" that will be held later on in Palermo.
