ARGINARE SI AGGIUDICA IL BdR AWARDS 2019 - PREMIO META GROUP
The ARGINARE start-up project, which is at the base of a constituting Spin-off joint and not participated by the CNR (with the ISMN and IRBIM Institutes) and by the Univ. of Messina, took part in the 10th edition of the Forum of the Research Scholarship, which was held in Fisciano from 28 to 30 May. The initiative, promoted by the Univ. of Salerno and by Emblema Foundation, was designed to promote contact between the world of research that takes place at universities and research institutes, spin-offs, start-ups, companies, incubators and investors (public and private) through a format of original interaction that can concretely favor technology transfer and economic support for research.
Dr. Maria Rosaria Plutino, researcher of the Institute for the Study of Nanostructured Materials (ISMN) of the National Research Council (CNR), as CEO and Scientific Responsible of the future Innovative Srl, was the delegate of the ARGINARE project, and presented the business idea to investors and companies during the two days dedicated to the two different levels of networking: one-to-one meetings and pitches.
In particular, during the second day, dedicated to one-to-one meetings between research groups, spin-offs, financiers and companies, Dr. Plutino sponsored the products of the ARGINARE project to delegates of investors, companies and business accelerators, that in the two weeks prior to the event, had scouted all the participants, defining an agenda of 15 appointments with ARGINARE based on specific and potential common interests.
Today, at the end of the event, the pitching session was held in which, Spin off and Start up presented their activities to an audience of companies and investors. The ARGINARE project, which deals with the development of new eco-friendly innovative hybrid materials, based on the use of natural clays and waste products, for environmental remediation and reclamation, and was developed by a multidisciplinary team (Dr. MR Plutino, ISMN-CNR, Dr. S. Cappello, IRBIM-CNR, Dr. G. Sabatino and Dr. G. Rando, UniME), won one of the seven BdR Awards 2019 for the Green Economy category, sponsored by Meta group Ventures, partner of the event. The prize includes a month of training and tutoring for the writing and implementation of a business plan and for the preparation of a pitch-tech, which will lead, at the end of the training period, to the presentation of the project to national and international investors.
