FACILITY FOR CATALYST CHARACTERIZATION AND EVALUATION OF CATALYTIC ACTIVITY
The ISMN catalytic laboratory is equipped with experimental apparatus for the analysis of structural, surface and structural properties beside the investigation of catalytic activity.
The microstructural properties of materials, as surface area, pore diameter and distribution are obtained by N2 isotherm of adsorption /desorption at liquid nitrogen temperature (-196 °C) with the Sorptomatic 1900. The surface of the catalysts is analysed by Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) using a VG microtech ESCA 3000 Multilab equipped with dual Al/Mg anode and hemispheric analyser. The structure of the catalysts , supports and supported metals, is analysed by X-ray diffraction and scattering techniques (XRD, SAXS, WAXS).

Micromeritics Autochem 2910, devoted to the study of reduction and oxidation reaction (TPR/TPO)
Micromeritc Autochem II 2920 devoted to the study of reaction in gas phase. The system is logged to IR and UV detectors for CO, CH4, CO2, H2 and NOx
