Main research interests
I have extensive experience in using a variety of synchrotron techniques to examine many problems of technological and fundamental interest in materials physics. Presently, I perform experiments at many synchrotron radiation facilities located worldwide concerning: (a) organic/inorganic interfaces related to hybrid electronic and spintronic devices; (b) redox reactions occurring at metal/oxide interfaces buried within memristor devices; (c) density of states of bulk complex oxides. I primarily use the synchrotron radiation techniques of hard x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (HAXPES), soft x-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and x-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) to determine the electronic, structural and magnetic properties of these systems.

Staff Scientist of the BEAR beamline at the Elettra Synchrotron radiation Facility (Trieste, Italy). CNR (formerly INFM) tenure track contract converted to permanent position since January 2005. I have got large expertise on soft x-ray photoelectron and absorption spectroscopy techniques and provided support to the beamline users.
Post-doc fellowship at the INFM Operative Group in Grenoble located at European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (France). Structural investigation of organic-inorganic interfaces, e.g. C60 on Pt(111), by Surface X-ray Diffraction.
